A 2009 DECC survey of awareness and attitudes discovered that public support for renewables remains high. It revealed that 85 percent of the general public support the use of renewable energy, 81 percent are in favour of the use of wind power, and 62 percent would be happy to live within five kilometres (three miles) of a wind power development.
