Other emerging technologies
The UK is leading the development of a number of low-carbon technologies that will play an important role in the future. These include:
- marine energy technology (such as from wave and tidal power)
- offshore wind power
- organic LED materials technology
- ultra-efficient panel lighting
- control systems for smart metering of electricity
- intelligent management of the electricity grid
- battery chemistry and management
