Our aim is to establish a robust, proportionate and cost effective operational framework for the Green Deal which creates new business opportunities whilst protecting consumers. The result will be a Green Deal brand which consumers trust and which suppliers wish to be part of, whilst delivering carbon savings from more energy efficient buildings.
Effective oversight of the Green Deal will therefore be essential to ensure there is robust customer protection. Clause 3 of the Energy Act 2011 requires the setting up of an authorisation scheme for assessors, installers, providers and products. It also sets out the framework regulations for participants and the requirement for there to be a code of practice.
The documents below are the result of recent discussions in the Installer Accreditation Forum operated on behalf of DECC by the Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes. These are not a definitive description of the functions, but the thoughts and recommendations from the group. DECC will consider these in relation to the final specification.
