Statistics by energy source

DECC publishes energy statistics on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. We produce all of these statistics in Microsoft Excel 2000 format.

Statistical information is broken down into the following categories:
Total energy	Coal
Oil	Gas
Electricity	Combined heat and power
Renewables	Explanatory notes
Temperatures and wind speeds	Foreign trade
Calorific values	Prices

The data in the categories listed above is classed as National Statistics. National Statistics are produced to high professional standards, as set out in the UK Statistics Authority: code of practice for official statistics.

They undergo regular quality assurance reviews to ensure that they meet customer needs, and they are produced free from any political interference.
