Sub-national electricity consumption data

Sub-national electricity consumption data

You can find details about how electricity consumption data has been collated in the articles in the June 2005 and December 2005 to 2009 editions of Energy trends.

In March 2008, the electricity consumption dataset gained National Statistics status. This status applies to all data from 2005 onwards.

Electricity consumption statistics for 2003, 2004 (both experimental series),and 2005 to 2008 at regional and local authority levels are available below. However, at present, DECC are carrying out further analysis of the consistency between the 2008 sub-national data and the 2008 data published at UK level in the Digest of UK energy statistics; at this stage we recommend that users consider that these data are provisional. An article in the March 2010 edition of Energy trends presents the findings of the latest analysis.
