Marine Renewables Deployment Fund

The funding previously announced for the Marine Renewables Deployment Fund (MRDF) was allocated for the current spending review period, which ends on 31 March 2011. No decisions have yet been taken on budgets for the coming spending review period. There is now no prospect that any spending could take place under the MRDF in the current financial period and no funding has been allocated for future years.

Any decisions on funding for wave and tidal energy will be considered alongside all other technologies as a part of DECC current resource allocation process. Announcements on funding for the coming spending review period will be made sometime during the spring.
