Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP)
Final report
The Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP) has published its final technical report, which details the operations of the programme and provides a large set of statistics indicating what was funded, where, to what type of organisation, average costs, etc. This information will be of use for industry, planners, academics and other interested parties.
Programme Evaluation Project
The Low Carbon Buildings Programme's £137 million grants programme for the funding and installation of domestic and non-domestic (in the not-for-profit sector) microgeneration technology ran from spring 2006 and closed to new applications in May 2010. Final payments have now been made.
To comply with DECC requirements, Ipsos MORI and CAG Consultants were commissioned to conduct an external independent evaluation of the programme to provide a comprehensive understanding about what the programme achieved, and how it was delivered at the strategic policy level and implemented at the operational level. Their report was published on 10 August 2011.
Programme closure
The Low Carbon Building Programme (LCBP) closed to all new applications at 06.00 am Monday 24 May 2010. The closure is for new applications only; if you have a valid grant offer letter (GOL) LCBP will pay the agreed amount.
The Low Carbon Buildings Programme supported the installation of small-scale, onsite energy technologies. It offered capital grants to householders, public, community and not-for-profit sectors. For householders, a certain level of insulation was mandatory to access a grant.
