EU ETS Phase I (2005 – 2007)
The EU Emissions Trading Directive 2003/87/EC came into force in October 2003 following discussions between the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council. This was Phase I of the EU ETS and ran from 1 January 2005 to 31 December 2007.
