Consultation on proposal to transfer the existing Section 37 Electricity Act 1989 Exemptions for Overhead power line consents to the Planning Act 2008 regime

This consultation proposed that all exemptions contained in the Overhead Lines (Exemption) (England and Wales) Regulations 2009, including those for essential maintenance and emergency repairs, will be applied to future Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) cases for overhead lines of 132kV and above through an Order that will commence on 1 March 2010.
