Consultation on Comprehensive Review Phase 2B: Tariffs for non-PV technologies and scheme administration issues

Reference Number:
12D/010
Open Date:
09/02/2012
Close Date:
26/04/2012

This consultation proposes changes to the tariffs for the four non-PV technologies currently eligible for FITs (Wind, Hydro, Anaerobic Digestion and micro-CHP). It also proposes a degression mechanism for each, based on cost evidence detailed in the "Parson Brinckerhoff and Cambridge Economics Policy Associates Updates to FITs model: Documentation of Changes made for Non-PV Technologies" report.

This consultation also seeks views on making special arrangements for community projects, including greater tariff stability.

For the non-PV technologies, we are proposing an increase in the rate of return available for micro-combined heat and power, in recognition of the benefits this technology could bring, as well as potential tariff guarantees for wind, anaerobic digestion and hydro projects, so that those technologies can have greater certainty about what rates of return they will receive.

The consultation will be open from 9 February and closes on 26 April.
