The Government Response to this second consultation is available further down this page under the Post-Consultation documents heading.

Current Climate Change Agreements expire in March 2013. However, the Government announced in the Pre Budget Report in 2007 that “the scheme will continue until 2017, subject to State aid approval, and [it] will discuss with business the most effective way of taking this forward”.

The Government consulted on a number of proposals and options for changes to the form and content of existing Climate Change Agreements in March 2009.

Building on this, the Government published the second consultation below in December 2009, which sought views on a single proposal for new Climate change Agreements. The Government response to this consultation is now published, which sets out the policy changes for new Climate Change Agreements.
