Managing the combined risk of climate change and a shortfall in the supply of safe, affordable energy is a complex challenge.
As DECC develops policies to achieve these goals and works on the international stage to encourage others to do likewise, we need confidence in our understanding of the problems faced and in the solutions we have proposed. Science and innovation play a crucial role in providing this understanding.
